Catherine W. ``Kay'' Malmfeldt, 73, of the 3700 block of Virginius Drive, passed away Oct. 28, 1997.
Mrs. Malmfeldt was a native of Lynchburg, Va., and a graduate of E.C. Glass High School. She was the widow of Lt. Cmdr. Robert E. Malmfeldt.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Malmfeldt and her son, Richard E. Malmfeldt, both of Virginia Beach; brothers, Daniel M. Whitmore of Roanoke, Va., Edgar R. Whitmore of New Mexico and Walter Whitmore of Newport News; sisters, Ruth Burnett of Lynchburg and Elizabeth Pleasants of Greensboro, N.C.; two grandchildren, Brian Strew of Reseda, Calif., Bjorn ``Jib'' Malmfeldt of Virginia Beach; and one great-grandchild, Shelby Strew of Reseda, Calif.
She was a longtime member of the Silver Eagles Association and the Retired Officers Association. She did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels, Virginia Beach Respite Care and the Virginia Beach Democratic Party.
The family will greet friends at the home of Susan Malmfeldt, 529 Bushnell Drive, Virginia Beach from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The remains will be taken to Arlington National Cemetery where she will rest with her late husband. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plaza Rescue Squad and the Virginia Beach Meals on Wheels. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
