BETTY P. WANNAMAKER

Betty Poe Wannamaker, 67, a Charleston County civic leader, died Wednesday, Oct. 29, 1997, in a local hospital.

Born in Zee Zing, W.Va., she was the daughter of William Bernard Poe and Lou Ellen James Poe. Mrs. Wannamaker was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church. She was the widow of Dr. Charles C. Wannamaker.

Survivors include sons, Charles Copes Wannamaker II of North Charleston and Leland Bernard Wannamaker of Norfolk; daughters, Priscilla W. Levasseur of North Charleston, Joy W. Kirchoffer of Roswell, Ga., and Tracy W. Loggins of Gainesville, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1150 E.
