Several hundred guests and employees were evacuated from the Virginia Beach Resort and Conference Center on Saturday night after a fire broke out in a laundry room.
The blaze was contained to the laundry, although smoke spread in varying degrees to seven floors of the hotel.
The fire was reported at 9:16 p.m. and was extinguished shortly after firefighters arrived. One person suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The hotel reopened after firefighters vented smoke and fumes from the building.
