Edwards is a teacher at Plaza Middle School, where he also coaches softball.
Age: 46.
Occupation: Eighth-grade math teacher.
Handicap: 17.
Favorite course: Hell's Point. Great design and challenging.
Lowest score: 78 at Bow Creek. Hit it straight, kept it in play, putted well.
Clubs: Taylor Made iron copies; Big Bertha woods copies; Mizuno putter.
Shot I dread the most: Bunkers; hit it thin or chunk it.
My dream foursome: Fred Couples, Greg Norman, John Daly and me.
Biggest golf gripe: Slow play.
Most memorable shot: Hole-in-one at No. 17 at Ocean View. The pin was on the right side. I hit a big fade that rolled across two-thirds of the green and into the hole. It was ugly.
Funniest thing I ever saw on the course: In February 1996, three friends and I were at Ford's Colony. I was about 20 yards in front and 90 yards left and one member hit a shot dead left and hit me above the ankle. About a month later at Broad Bay as I was on the green to the right, and another member shanked out of a greenside grass bunker and turned looking for the ball as it came at me. We couldn't locate it as it ended up in my left pocket. ILLUSTRATION: Color photo
