Mary Lou Brisson, seated, was helped from her submerged car in the

Elizabeth River last week by Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Steven H.

Kendrick, left; Hospitalman Aaron Julian, center; and Billie J.

Spencer. Brisson, a Portsmouth resident, was parking her car when

she sneezed, hit her head on the steering wheel and inadvertently

slammed her foot on the accelerator, launching the car into the

river. A ceremony Monday honored her rescuers.
