Frederick Louis Korta Jr., 56, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, at INOVA Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Va.

Mr. Korta moved to the area 12 years ago from Greenville, N.C. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, Portsmouth. He loved to play basketball in high school, the Air Force, and in college.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Bonnie Korta; a daughter, Hillary Victoria Beatrice Joy Korta; a sister, Joyce Urrutia and her husband, Frank, of New York City, N.Y.; and one nephew, Juan Urrutia of New York City.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Lee Funeral Home of Manassas, Sudley Road, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by the Rev. James B. Garrett. Interment will follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, Manassas.
