ADMIRALS LOSE GERVAIS, MANSOFF TO PORTLAND

The Hampton Roads Admirals host Roanoke tonight minus their both best player and highest-scoring defenseman, who were recalled by the Portland Pirates of the AHL on Thursday.

Victor Gervais, who leads the Admirals with 12 points, and defenseman Jason Mansoff, who has eight points in nine games, will play for the Pirates tonight at Fredericton, New Brunswick. The Admirals were already without Rod Taylor, the team's career scoring leader, who is out with a shoulder bruise.

General manager Al MacIsaac says Portland officials told him they need Gervais and Mansoff because of injuries to other players but didn't indicate how long they will be gone.

Yuri Yeresko, who was scratched from the lineup last weekend, likely will replace Mansoff. A determination on whether Taylor can play won't be made until this morning.
