Mary Alma (Burton) Harris, of the 2400 block of Virginia Beach Blvd. departedthis life Nov. 11, 1997, in Farmington Hills, Mich., after a brief illness. She was born on Sept. 21, 1922, to Lucy and Frank Kettrell in Virginia Beach.
Survivors include 10 children, Milton Burton Jr., Alma B. Eley, Christine L. Corum, Allan D. Burton, Karen D. Burton, Marjorie A. Cook, Vickie O. Burton, Sharon B. Campbell, JoAnn Harris, McKinley Harris; four sisters, Minnie Wingate and Marjorie Williams of Norfolk, Sarah Glover, Earline Jackson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by one child, Alfonza Burton Sr.
