Sun Yong Yi, 36, of the 1400 block of Lake Christopher Drive, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, in a local hospital.
Coming from Alabama, he was an area resident for eight years. He was a Tae Kwon Do master instructor and coach, and a member of the Tidewater Korean Baptist Church, where he was a part of the choir.
He is survived by his wife, Yon H. Yi; two sons, Nam H. Yi and Yong H. Yi; his parents, Hang and Sun Yi of Korea; a brother, Soon Man Yi of Virginia Beach; and three sisters, Sun Hwa Tibbitts of Oregon, Sun Lee Raymond of Virginia Beach and Sunshil R. Jung of Virginia Beach.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall Chapel. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tidewater Korean Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
