Abner Lorenzo Watson, of the 1100 block of Pike St., passed away on Nov. 14, 1997, in his home.
Born in Rich Square, N.C., he was a landscape technician.
Survivors include his wife, Alberta Watson; a son, Abner Watson Jr. and his wife, Ethel Watson of New York; a daughter, Linda Liggins and her husband, Joseph of Hampton; one sister, Mary W. Brooks and her husband, Melvin of Vermont; two brothers, the Rev. Theodore Watson and his wife, Norma of Norfolk, Ferdinand Watson and his wife, Bernice of North Carolina; two sisters-in-law of predeceased brothers, Alee Watson of Norfolk, and Catherine Watson of North Carolina; five grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at noon at the Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Donald F. Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be today at 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. in Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
