Rudolph Mackey Sr. of the 4400 block of Old Princess Anne Road died Nov. 16, 1997.
Born in Princess Anne County, he had retired from the Naval Supply Center after 30 years of service. He was a member of Union Baptist Church, Kempsville, where he was a member of the choir and male chorus.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret E. Mackey; five daughters, Yvonne Knox, Albertine Knox, Diane Banks and Kimberly Austin, all of Virginia Beach, and Paula Copland of Columbus, Ga.; seven sons, Ivan Knox and Michael Smith of Virginia Beach, Rudolph Mackey Jr. of Southfield, Mich., Raphield Knox of Tennessee, Franklin Smith of Germany, Patrick Austin and Randy Austin, both of Norfolk; 26 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday in Piney Grove Baptist Church, Holland Road, by the Rev. Samuel Walton. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends and relatives at 210 Pritchard Road, Virginia Beach. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
