MARTHA G. HOWELL

Martha Glenn Howell, 67, of the 6200 block of Godwin Blvd. died Nov. 18, 1997, in her residence.

She was a homemaker and a member of Oakland Christian Church. A native of Cheraw, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Ernest Lindsey Glenn and Hattie Elmore Glenn. She was also predeceased by her brother, William E. Glenn.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. R. Leroy Howell Sr.; sons, Glenn W. Smith of Mount Olive, W.Va., Dr. Ralph L. Howell Jr. of Suffolk, John S. Howell Sr. of Suffolk; sisters, Ernestine G. Medford of Salisbury, Md., Janice Simpson of Seneca, S.C.; grandchildren, Lauren Howell, Danielle Howell and J. Stewart Howell Sr.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Oakland Christian Church by the Rev. Mark L. Burns. Interment will be private. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Harrell Funeral Home.
