Linda Dawes Magee, 48, went to be with Jesus Nov. 18, 1997.

A native of Nash County, N.C., she was a daughter of Ann Pearson Dawes Ivey of Gates, N.C., and the late William Dawes. Mrs. Magee was a surgical coordinator in the OB-GYN department at Lakeview Medical Center. She was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church.

Besides her mother, she is survived by her husband, James Thomas Magee; two daughters, Jodi Magee Williams of Gates, N.C., Jamie Rae Magee of Suffolk; a son, James Thomas Magee Jr. of Richmond; two sisters, Millie Elizabeth Harris of Nashville, N.C., Ruby Ann Farris of Wilson, N.C.; four brothers, Keith Dawes and Gene Dawes, both of Rocky Mount, N.C., Glenn Dawes of Delaware, James Robert Williams of Wilson; her maternal grandmother, Lillian Pittman Pearson of Bailey, N.C.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Magnolia United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Larry Renfrow. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson. The family will receive friends in R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Unit of Obici Hospital, 1900 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
