JAMES F. ROBINSON

James F. Robinson, 78, born in Washington, N.C., on Sept. 15, 1919, died in the intensive care unit at Maryview Hospital on Nov. 13, 1997.

He is survived by his wife, Sadie Robinson; his son, Michael Robinson; and two brothers, Norwood Robinson and Corbett Robinson.

During World War II, James served his country as a petty officer of the U.S. Navy. A retired salesman, he continued to work until his death. Previous employers include the Portsmouth Navy Yard, Prices Inc. and Gaulthey. Dedicated to his work, as demonstrated through unbending loyalty and service, his most current place of employment was Wal-Mart of Chesapeake.

Known as ``Uncle James,'' he always had a smile and joke to share with anyone passing his way. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
