New Superintendent William L. Dobney has named Greg Schwarga principal of Griggs Elementary School.
Schwarga will replace popular and longtime Principal Fannie Newbern when she retires Dec. 31. Schwarga has been an assistant to Newbern for eight years.
``He has tremendous community support, which should give him a head start on being successful,'' Dobney said in a press release.
Other positions announced:
Sharon Forbes was named principal of The Knapp School, which will change from a middle school to an elementary school when the new high school opens.
Ron Leigh will serve as director of personnel.
Anne Mackin will serve as supervisor of curriculum and instruction.
Dobney plans to announce several other administrative changes in the coming months.
