Mary Magdalene Williams of the 4700 block of Dalton Drive died peacefully and quietly on Friday, Nov. 21, 1997, at her residence.
A native of Bertie County, N.C., she was the daughter of Gathah and Diane Askew Rodgers. She was the widow of Charlie Williams.
Mrs. Williams had been a long-time employee of the Charles Kaufman family in Norfolk until she retired. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church. She was active and a loyal member of several fraternal organizations among them, United Order of Tents, Beaulah Tent No. 60. and Supervisor Virginia No. 11 District Household of Ruth, Grand United Order of Odd Fellows.
A funeral will be conducted 11 a.m. today in First Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. Johnnie L. White. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. today, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Riddick Funeral Service is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
