Jesse Vernon Harrell, 78, of Woodland Church Road, died Thursday evening, Nov. 27, 1997, in his home.
A native of Perquimans County, he was the son of the late Jesse and Virginia Ann Hurdle Harrell. He was a farmer and carpenter and a member of Woodland United Methodist Church and American Legion Post No. 126. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lena Sawyer Harrell; a daughter, Linda Ann Harrell of Pinecrest, Fla.; a son, Douglas Vernon Harrell and his wife, Nancy of Hertford; a sister, Eunice H. Spivey of Belvidere; two brothers, Ralph F. Harrell and James Wesley Harrell, both of Hertford; four grandchildren, Nancy H. Godfrey and her husband, Chris of Elizabeth City, Che Christian Padron and Jesse Redolfo Padron, both of Pinecrest, and Robert Vernon Harrell of Hertford. He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Keaton Harrell, and a grandson, Redolfo Jason Padron.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Cedar Wood Cemetery. Swindell Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
