CLAUDE MOODY

Claude Moody, 71, of the 5700 block of Bingham Drive died Nov. 27, 1997.

Born in Buncombe County, N.C., he was retired as the dean of administration and finance from Tidewater Community College. He was also retired as a master chief storekeeper from the U.S. Navy and a veteran. Mr. Moody was a member of West Park Church of Christ and an active supporter of various animal charities.

Survivors include his wife, Betty R. Moody; a daughter, Kathy Burton of Newport News; a son, Michael G. Moody of Cornelius, N.C.; a sister, Jewel Pinkerton of Asheville, N.C.; and three grandchildren, Jennifer and Sarah Moody of Cornelius and Alicia Dobson of Newport News. He was also survived by two special canine friends, Meko and Tinkerbell.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by Pastor Keith Lewis. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
