Joseph Lupia Sr., 81, died Nov. 27, 1997, in his residence.
Born in Kenosha, Wis., he was a retired self-employed restaurant owner. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Hampton Elks.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Antionette ``Nettie'' Lupia; a daughter, Nanette Lupia Kopasakis of Virginia Beach; two sons, Joseph Lupia Jr. of North Potomac, Md., and Michael James Lupia of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Louise Maracini, Mary Jane Guttormsan, Geraldine Liegakos and Katherine Hackbarth, all of Kenosha; a brother, Paul Ferraro of Kenosha; seven grandchildren, LuAnn Lupia, Logan Lupia, Nicci Lupia, Voula Marie Kopasakis, Antionette Kopasakis, Michael Joseph Lupia and Caroline Grace Lupia; a son-in-law, Xenofon Kopasakis; and daughters-in-law, Robin Spady Lupia and Stacy Lupia.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Sunday in St. Nicholas Catholic Church by Fr. James M. Noto. Entombment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Rosewood Memorial Park. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday. Friends and family will gather at the church for prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday followed by the procession to the cemetery.
