The Portland, Tacoma and Seattle chapters were represented. Of a total of 79 classes, 73 were represented by entries. 389 cut trusses were entered by 35 exhibitors and 19 exhibitors brought 76 plants for the Early Competition.

- Emma Atkinson McKeen Memorial Award (p) for best hybrid plant: Awarded to: E. C. Brockenbrough, M.D. for R. 'Etta Burrows'.
- Nelson Challenge Trophy (p) for best species plant raised from seed by exhibitor. Awarded to: Sam Conover for: R. racemosum .
- Pat Ballard Memorial Award (p) for best lepidote truss or spray: Awarded to: Cecil Smith for R. davidsonianum .
- The Seattle Study Group Mary and Ted Greig Appreciation Award (p) for a Neriiflorum series truss, or plant. Awarded to: Frank Doleshy for R. beanianum .
- The Josephine Nelson Fortunei Award (p) for best truss or plant of a Fortunei Series or hybrid. Awarded to: C. E. Simons, Jr., M.D. for R. 'Avalanche'.
- The Isabel and Lawrence Pierce Award (p) for best elepidote truss. Awarded to: Bernard Swenson for R. zeylanicum .
