JARS v46n2 - California Natives To Adorn New Park
California Natives To Adorn New Park
California Chapter member Howard Oliver reports that a new park devoted entirely to two native California rhododendrons, R. occidentale and R. macrophyllum , will be established on part of the former four-acre practice grounds of the San Francisco 49ers. The site at 1400 Roosevelt Ave., Redwood City, Calif., was donated to the ARS by the Redwood City Parks and Recreation Department and consists of nearly an acre and is partly wooded. The park will be managed by Howard Oliver of Menlo Park, Calif., and Dr. Frank Mossman of Vancouver, Wash.
