- NEIGHBORHOOD NAMES
- A PLAYGROUND, AT LASTWAYNE DEEL/STAFF. CHRISTOPHER MCFADYEN, JUSTIN WEBB, ALEX MCFADYEN, JENNIFER MCFADYEN AND BRITTANY WARD (LEFT TO RIGHT) HAVE BEEN WAITING ALMOST AS MANY YEARS AS THEY ARE OLD FOR A NEW PLAYGROUND AT THE GARDEN CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. THIS NEW SWING AND SLIDE PLAYGROUND HAS BEEN IN THE PLANNING FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS BY THE SCHOOL AND THE PTA. WITH EFFORT OF HELP FROM PARENTS, TEACHERS AND FOLKS IN THE GARDEN CITY COMMUNITY ALONG WITH FINANCIAL AID FROM ROANOKE CITY SCHOOLS, THE GARDEN CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTA, DOMINION RENOVATIONS AND MOORE'S, THE CHILDREN OF THE GARDEN CITY COMMUNITY WILL HAVE ACHRISTMAS PRESENT OF A NEW PLAYGROUND. THE MEN WORKING IN THE BACKGROUND (FROMLEFT) ARE BOGDAN FILIP, RHAN WEBB, RANDY WEBB AND CHRIS MCFADYEN. THERE WERE AS MANY AS 28 PEOPLE WORKING TOGETHER ON THE PROJECT ON A GIVEN SATURDAY.
